The association is an umbrella of self-help groups in 16 districts of Budapest, but they have no organization in the other 7. The project’s goal was to build the capacity of the Aasociation by establishing self-help groups of persons with physical disabilities (DPO) in all district osf Budapest. Stronger advocacy activity and increased number of advocacy activists are expected. As a result advocacy of disabled people will be ensured in each district of Budapest. Activities included efficient advocacy trainings for representatives of the association’s DPOs in each district, and the assessment of disability policies affecting the life of disabled people in 7 districts. A communication campaign to address one actual case isbe organized in co-operation with all district DPOs. Target groups were all disabled people and their families living in 7 districts of Budapest. Cooperation between 7 district DPOs and district governments are to be initiated.
