The project's goals were to gain support for "green orienteering competitions" from the broadest possible segments of the Hungarian orienteering community; putt environmental goals into practice first at a few selected competitions, then at other orienteering events as well; demonstratethat the current skeptical attitude can be changed; give examples and methods to other sports to change practices. Target groups are competitors and organizers, county and country level federations, other sport federations. Activities during the project demonstrated the viability of green practices at selected competitions, provided support and the necessary tools for organizers, getting competitors and organizers on board. They also created a targeted car-sharing webpage, providing information and feedback, describing methods. As a result, the organizers created partnerships between clubs and local/national federations in orienteering and other sports; reduced pollution; developed tools and methods that can be reused without additional costs, further reducing environmental impacts.
