According to the foundation’s experience and analysis, parents with children, particularly with disabled children, very often feel lonely and face social exclusion. Therefore they organize voluntary activities for families, particularly those with disabled children. They launched self-supporting groups for parents with disabled children with the purpose of their mental strengthening and integration into communities. As a result of the project the acceptance towards families with children, particularly disabled ones, will be improved, parents will feel more content and people around them become more tolerant. 10-15 families were given support in 8 local services,and the foundation also trained new volunteers (parents themselves, too) and volunteer coordinators. They collaborate with the Norwegian Home-Start Familycontacts network, the Hand-in-Hand and Motivation Foundations, the health visitor network and family centers.
