The objective of the project is to connect the food chain actors and charitable organizations in five cities and enable them to donate, receive and distribute surplus food (that otherwise would become waste). The project also aimed at launching local food surplus donation and the operation of a network for this. Accordingly, target groups are charitable organizations (e.g. homeless shelters, family support institutions, soup kitchens, children’s homes) and local companies of the food chain (smaller producers, restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries etc.). Main activities of the project are: inviting players in selected cities; organizing stakeholder forums; developing the participating charity organizations (trainings, mentoring, materials, document templates, work processes); launching the food donation process, testing and finalizing it, exchange of experience among participating organizations; dissemination workshop for other cities.
