The project’s aim was to empower the most vulnerable 15 communities of Hungary by reducing the chances of being penalized because of the conditions of bikes. When solving this very concrete problem the organizers trained and supported the creation of local Community Action Groups to become active civic citizens, and to generate democracy strengthening processes and empowering communities. The organizers prepared 750 bikes for safe traffic, and implemented a local and national media campaign about the project, its results, and about the stakeholders, keeping permanent contact and mentoring the CAGs. By doing this the organizers laid the basis of a large-scale national network, which aims at bringing together people who really want to change their life, and supporting the strengthening of democratic values. The results will be used to support those living in exclusion to become self-sufficient and self-confident active citizens.
