A great number of European prostitutes come from Hungary. Most of them are of Romani origins coming from North-East Hungary. According to surveys they are victims of childhood abuse, sexual exploitation and often lived in child protection institutions. The objective of the project was to create a pilot program for the potential child victims and the professional staff working with them in the institutions to help prevention and for a deeper social and professional understanding of the problem. As a result of the project the potential child victims have greater self-confidence, better decision-making, risk-understanding and communication skills; their self-assertion and critical thinking is strengthened. The information flow will develop between professional institutions. The target group was the children living in the Nyírszőlős Child Protection Institution and their professional helpers. The consortium partner was Clowns on the Horizon.
