The project’s aim was to organize cultural events to develop the identity of gypsy youth, help their artistic development and decrease prejudices. Activities of the project include organizing a theatre group to present a play in Tiszadob and Nyíregyháza-Nyírszőlős, an Indian/Romani day with photo exhibition and an exhibition of gypsy amateur painters with launch of books. The target groups are Romani youth and youth in state care from the Tiszadob primary school and its population, primary school and population of Nyíregyháza-Nyírszőlős, population of Nyíregyháza. Cultural events were organized in the two areas (based on the assessments the needs), contributing to make free time omore useful, to knowledge dissemination regarding Roma, and to increasing tolerance. The majority can enjoy Romani events, acknowledge their value creation activities and products. The self-confidence and the cultural identity of the minority will increase; the collaboration between Romani and others will improve. The adequate institutes of the areas are also involved.
