The 6 months old Green Basket of Miskolc provides organic, eco & handmade goods and also community experience for its members. With this project, the organizers aimed to take this to the countryside, as there is a real need for the nonprofit market tool in the partner villages. Social entrepreneurship is a great opportunity for local NGOs but they don't realize this and people also can't see the role of NGOs in it. The organization is quite big but so far they have not reached the sustainable level of the Green Basket - therefore they involved 6 disadvantaged villages, where they developed the Green Basket community (the Small Baskets), also increasing the visibility and impact of local social entrepreneur NGOs. Target groups were recent and new members, local producers and volunteers of the Green Basket, eco-conscious inhabitants of Miskolc and 6 villages, indirectly the county's population (682.000). Most of the activities were carried out together with 6 local NGO partners, and the model will be shared with others, too.
