The aim of the project was to encourage LGBTQI people to start legal procedures in cases of human rights violations and to provide them with quality legal aid throughout the country. The project achieved these goals by creating a network of local activists and lawyers, extending the internet accessibility of the association’s services, assessing the needs of homophobic and transphobic hate crime victims, and conducting a legal awareness raising campaign. The association cooperated with other LGBTQI NGOs, professional and academic organizations to implement the project. The project decreases geographical inequalities in accessing the organization’s legal aid service, strengthens the visibility and advocacy capacity of local LGBTQI groups, improves the efficiency of the organization, expands reliable knowledge on hate crimes in Hungary, and deepens the ties with local groups and professional organization of lawyers.
