The Study Room project aimed to raise awareness and public attention on a complex and serious social issue: the learning difficulties of socially disadvantaged children, and also the harms and dangers following this problem. The major goal of the project and the related campaign was to urge civic problem solving and cooperation. The central activity of the project was built on the idea of an installation, a thought-provoking artistic object which presented the home circumstances of a child living in deep poverty. During the project the project promoter implemented a public event, presented an exhibition in 3 different cities of Hungary, and created an informative website promoting the course of the campaign. As a result with the help of the many media coverages about the project (altogether 26) the project promoter made it more understandable and evident for the city inhabitants that the future and success as a society depends strongly on the life chances and educational capacity of the socially disadvantaged children.
