This project focused on the tradition of solidarity in Hungarian literary heritage and connected it with contemporary social tensions. Supported by print, electronic and online media, the campaign combined traditional teaching methods with new media tools to reach the general audience as well as literature teachers and secondary school students. The campaign provided students with means to recognize and reflect upon social inequalities. In the project 8 contemporary writers commented on exemplary texts of solidarity and contemporary cases of inequality. In 20 secondary schools more than 700 students studied the videos and texts, and learned about inequality present in contemporary Hungarian society. Students also wrote their own texts (short stories, poems, essays) based on their own experience, and the best student works were given prizes. The Association of Teachers of Hungarian acted as partners. All material produced in the project is available on the Society's website.
