The aim of the project was to make the sustainable production, processing and consumption of vegetables and fruits popular in order to address the general but locally also manifesting tendencies of diminishing farming know-how and cultivated village gardens. The main result of the project is a unique rural community garden in the village of Hét created and maintained by the local communities, in which, by the end of 2015 farming took place already in 2 complete seasons following ecological principles and with a special focus on local seed varieties. The creation and cultivation of the garden was accompanied by a set of community development events such as cooking workshops, competitions and a project closing “Salad Festival” that have had an overall positive impact on the local community. In cooperation with the local sewing club a giant agricultural game was developed with patchwork techniques that has contributed to the agro-education of the smaller generations throughout the project period and since.
