15.1. Virtual Encounters with Survivors and Witnesses through Jewish Local History Walks - an informal educational program
15.2. Project aims to familiarize students with the history and tradition of Jewry in Hungary as well as with the Holocaust and its consequences.
Knowledge gained will develop critical thinking skills and on a longer perspective this will result in attitudinal and behaviorial change. As a result, students will become more open and more tolerant. Our objective is that acceptance of minorities as well as refusal of hate-speech and discrimination became part of the everyday culture.
15.3. Direct target audience: middle school and high school students, university students; Indirect target audience: teachers, educators.
15.4. We will apply the method of peer-learning. Activities:
1. Development of curriculum for peer-guide training; 2. Advertising the program; 3. Training for peer guides; 4. Visit and research at the Visual History Archive; 5. Advertising the walks; 6. Conducting the walks; 7.Selection of video testimony clips; 8. Development of mobile application;
9.Integration of downloadable testimony clips into the walks; 1o. Evaluation
15.5. Results of the project will appear in students' attitude. The most important change is that students become more refusive against stereotypes and more sensitive towards minority rights.
