The goal of the project was to promote and make self-sufficient lifestyles more widespread in Békéscsaba town and its surroundings. For this, community meetings as well as theoretical and practical trainings were held on organic farming, permaculture, straw building and the alternative marketing opportunities of related products. At the "Towards self-sufficiency" day participants had the opportunity to build windbreakers, pedal-powered household appliances and a biolitter toilet. In order to link unused gardens and lands with wannabe but landless gardeners, a "BorrowedGardens" program set up to establish the necessary communication infrastructure. Finally, in order to promote community-supported agriculture networking has been started to connect interested growers and buyers.
