Out of the obstacles of the natural spring water caring the project addressed the lack of public information, the low level cooperational level and prestige of the related civic organizations and the underdevelopment of the civic control of the field with the aim of preserving and developing the status of the springs in Hungary. The most important outcome of the project is the nationwide SpringWaterGuardian Civic Network bringing together numerous experts and civic initiatives from the country, and within which, based on available best practices the model of spring caring and adoption was developed and published as a handbook, while local representatives/focal points of the network were trained in 2 two-days-long trainings. As a result of the trainings and workshops a dozen of initiatives got trained and enriched with new contacts, while the broader audience were activated through the national “WorldSpring Day” event.
